Da Vinci Chronograph ‘Lawrence Sports Charity Foundation’ Special Edition is a flagship watch of the latest Da Vinci series. Every year, IWC Schaffhausen launches limited edition special edition watches, some of which will be used to help vulnerable children and adolescents. Engraved on the bottom of the watch is a picture of a Chinese boy who won the global children’s drawing competition.
Da Vinci chronograph ‘Lawrence Sports Charity Foundation’ Special Edition (model: IW393402) diameter 42 mm, with blue dial. The newly developed removable lugs and the curved corners of the lugs ensure that the black Santoni crocodile leather strap fits perfectly on the wrist. This stainless steel chronograph shows the measured hours and minutes in a small dial, just like the hands of a watch. The chronograph seconds are displayed as usual with the central hand.
The 89361 self-made chronograph movement has a 68-hour power reserve and draws energy from the IWC’s dual pawl automatic winding system, which transmits energy to the pawl wheel via four pawls. This water-resistant 3 bar watch has a flyback function, which can be activated with the push of a button to stop, reset to zero and start at the same time.
Support the cause with special edition timepieces
Since 2006, IWC Schaffhausen has launched a special edition of the ‘Lawrence Sports Charity Fund’ every year. Part of the sales proceeds will be directly invested in the Lawrence Foundation and its projects. This IWC special edition series is now available in its eleventh edition as a hope for children and adolescents due to physical or mental impairments or family difficulties.
‘We want to improve the living environment for children and adolescents around the world,’ said Georges Kern, chief executive of IWC Schaffhausen. ‘Sports can make an important contribution. People with mental impairment are in many cases Being marginalized and neglected by society, and in the Lawrence sports, they can be respected and recognized and learn to overcome obstacles. I am very proud that we can make our own contribution to this. ‘
Smiling boy decorating engraved case back
All Lawrence Special Edition watches have a special engraving on the case back. In line with its fine tradition, IWC organizes children’s drawing competitions every year as part of the Lawrence Sports Foundation’s global program. The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Time Well Spent.’ The jury finally selected a 12-year-old Hou Yi from Shanghai. Despite his mental retardation and physical dysfunction, Hou Yun still participated in the East Asian Special Olympics with great passion. In his award-winning pictures, he painted a beautiful picture of his best skiing performance and a cheerful smile.
